It's the wrong shoe gromit!
Heyas. Just got home from this conference/exhibition thingy and have to admit it wasn't as bad as I had imagined (as always). The first thing I wanted to do when I got home was to take my shoes off - I'll explain why below...
I left in a hurry this morning and as I don't normally wear black shoes to work (Usually just wear trainers), I had to dig through the pile of shoes next to the door to find my shoes. When putting the shoes on, I did kinda think that the right foot was a bit tight but then I hadn't worn them in ages so I presumed that it was just cos I wasn't used to them. Anyways, after I had got to the train station, it hit me - I was wearing one of my shoes on the left foot and one of Glis' on the right! I couldn't tell in the first place because they are so similar (Black shoes are black shoes) but my shoe was a bit more pointy than the rounded shoe of Glis'. Glis must also be a bit smaller in size than me as it was very tight (I'm a wide fitting anyways), but in addition to this, the heel was about a half a centimetre thicker on Glis' shoe so I was walking lop sided.
Fortunately no-one detected this throughout the day, I just had to quietly endure the pain. It really did do my back in being lop-sided however... I'll need to lie down in a mo. I still can't believe that I put the wrong shoe on - I'm becoming more clumsy / stupid by the day; first the Ice Cream from yesterday and now this.
As far as the conference goes, I didn't have to demonstrate the product once, the people there weren't really interested and I didn't know the lingo or have any interest in what they were there for so I ended up not doing a lot. I did however produce a screen shot for the product box while everyone else was in one of the talks which earnt me a pat on the back from the CEO as he needed it today to send off to the printers.
Got back home nice and early too as this place "One Whitehall Place" was right opposite a desserted entrance to Charing Cross station which leads straight on to the platform, beyond the barriers - a good way of getting a free ride meethinks, will have to remember that one for the future. :)
