I'm not Dave Gorman... Are you?

I finished reading the 400page "Are You Dave Gorman?" by Dave Gorman and Danny Wallace on the train today. A mere 3 days since I bought it. I've not read a book that fast since the Harry Potter series... :P

It was a really addictive book though. Is a true story as told by two London flatmates who made a drunken bet. Danny bet Dave that he couldnt meet "loads" of Dave Gormans. Dave took up the challenge. They decided that "loads" was 54 as that was how many cards there were in a pack (Including the jokers). Their adventure begins with the pair travelling up to Scotland to meet a Dave Gorman they had heard about and goes on from there with them travelling the world to meet Dave Gormans from places such as Israel, New York, Norway, France and more. The search for Gormans soon becomes less about a stupid bet and more about obsession. Was a real shame when I finished it, was one of those stories you'd want to go on forever but then if it did, it would have probably become boring and stale.

It's a fantastic book which I'd recommend to anyone in my generation whether they had head of the guy or not. Go buy now!

Next, to read my Frank Skinner autobiography. Will it be as good as "Are You Dave Gorman?". I doubt it somehow...

Is it not something like he had to meet a new Dave Gorman not more than 300 miles away and not less than 100 miles away from the previous one?

Nah, their adventure happened first. It was always about meeting 54 Dave Gormans. The whole 500mpdg (Miles per Dave Gorman) thing was comething Dave came up with during their travels but was only really used for the TV program to make it more visual (After all, it was just a guy telling a story with a few photos otherwise).
