Lots of stuff
Jun. 15th, 2003 10:13 pmHad a good day today, met up with two friends I haven’t seen in ages and went to town. Caught up on a lot of things and I should make an effort to see them and other friends from school (which I left 6 years ago now) more often. It's been a glorious hot summer day today, I hope that the weather holds out rather than turning quickly to rain storms as it usually does. Managed to not buy anything which is a good thing as I'm low on funds and went to see the preview screening of 2 Fast 2 Furious.
The main reason we went to see 2 Fast 2 Furious was that there wasn't anything better on but we wanted to see a film. Without giving anything away, the plot was extremely flaky but the gorgeous visuals and audio almost made up for it. The driving scenes were awesome and the cars were fantastic, it's just that plot itself was really poorly thought through.
Paul finally returned my copy of Spaced Series 1 on DVD. I lent that out almost a year ago now to Dom who later passed it to Paul as it would be easier for me to get back. Unfortunately, due to many situations when we forgot or whatever, I've not had it for such a long time. When I got hiome, I treated myself to a marathon of the entire series. I still love the series today, eassily one of the funniest sit-coms of recent time.
In other news, I've been busy sending off emails trying to organise a trip to Thorpe Park as last year's visit to Chessington World of Adventures was such a success. Not had much response yet but it's early days. Should be fun!
Got my copy of the new album, Bilious Paths by µ-Ziq (AKA Mu-ziq) along with my DVD of "The Definitive Version" of Trainspotting. The album was fantastic as I expected from the samples I've listened to from the web site. It's the first album I've got by µ-Ziq and can say he has a good Aphex Twin type style going on; I should probably look into getting more of his stuff. Trainspotting was great to see again, this time completely uncut (only extra bits I noticed were more blood int he fight scenes and a bit more detail to the jacking up scene). The extras were OK but not sure they really justified a second disc.
Finally, you may be aware (yet more likely not care) that the new Harry Potter book is coming out next week. I've had my copy on pre-order since January as it was half price with Amazon (however, it is still half price). In preparation, I have started re-reading the fourth book as it leaves it with quite a good cliff hanger if I remember rightly. Should be great to see what finally happens.
