While cooking some burgers in the microwave grill (it's a combo oven), I accidentally grabbed the grill as i took it out the microwave cos otherwise it would fall on the floor. As a result, I'm left with the most painful burn I've ever had. My left thumb and fore finger and three fingers on my right hand were burnt. It's made typing a nightmare.

I tried ice packs, lavender oil, aloe vera gel, cold water... all to no avail. I've taken two iboprofen in hope that eases the pain. Meanwhile I'm just sitting enduring the pain :(

Even if I were to do that, how would you suggest I did that? I can't drive and it sure isnt walking distance.

Anyway, no need to worry now, I'm feeling better.

I'll trust your mother's advice that it's not serious, but I'm still worried.

Ouch!

The disclaimer obviously applies that I'm not a doctor, but my instinct would be to grin and bear it, unless you get lots of stuff seeping out of blisters, or skin peels off, or you lose the ability to move muscles in the area normally.

My advice would also be not to grasp hot things, but I think you've worked that one out for yourself...

It was a reflex reaction to grab it so it didn't go on the floor. It was my intention to move it around witht he aid of a cloth but I hadn't seated it properly on the side...

Lesson learnt: Burgers are bad for your health... kinda.

Arf... nasty.

I once picked up a hot tray from the oven (one containing roast potatoes)... but the piece of material between my thumb and index finger had worn away a tiny bit and i burnt my hand right on the webbing - it hurt so much i nearly wet myself >.<

Actually, breaking or not breaking a blister makes no difference. As long as you burst it with sterile equipment, it should be fine. I have it on firm assurance from a doctor.

Yeah, people always warn against it cos of the whole non-sterileness that people are likely to bust em with. It just gives some pain relief really (though not, if you don't use sterile equipment! ;)
