Had a relatively good day at work today due to my supervisor being away at a conference. I strangely got a lot done, took a majority of the phone calls but we also messed about a lot in the meantime. No complaints or nothing. Also, as none of the sales staff were in as they were also at the conference, I made the company £300 which was nice :) I also managed to get away from work on time for the first time in the history of me working in London. I got home around 7.30 :)
Finished watching the Trigger Happy TV 2 DVD which came today. I had missed most of the second series and so I got to see lots of footage I missed. It was really funny - if you haven't seen it, go get it now! ...god how I love those squirrel suits! I want one!
Is a pain as with the 1st DVD, it's just the 'best bits' rather than the episodes of the show. The extras are OK but possibly not as good as the original but the commentary was rather inciteful. I'm not too sure about replay value. I suppose it'll be good watching with friends and the like...
Also, in my quest to own the latest and best gadgets going, I've ordered myself a RioVolt SP250. It kinda looks like this:
Read all the nifty features of it here. Plays CDs, MP3 CDs, has FM radio, 8 min anti-shock (Which is much better than my old one which had none) and it reads the MP3 track names properly and displays them on the screen which few do.
It's not out in the UK yet and the only UK site that has it is Simply Computers. They are asking £223.24 for it and they don't have stock for at least 40 days (I think 40 days is the max that they record, even if it's longer).
Therefore, I did some searching and found that it's on sale in America at the moment. The cheapest place was buy.com (USA) but they didn't have stock and didn't ship internationally. Secondly was www.outpost.com who were selling it for $179.99 and had it in stock. Cheapo international shipping brought it up to $200ish but I'm impatient and stuff, so I opted for DHL express which meant that the total was $230.92. Now you may be thinking that that is expensive for a snazzy CD player... Well it is but considering that is the same price in dollars as it is in pounds here, after the conversion rate, it's only £160ish so it's not too bad. Especially considering that I paid more than that for my MiniDisc player all that time ago. My only worry is that I get charged for customs and excise but still, it'll be less than what you pay in the UK.
Not got a tracking number yet but hopefully it will be dispatched soon and I'll have it some time next week. Something to look forward to at least. It may amuse you to know that I did all of this research and buying while on the phone to customers at work! Now who says I can't use my time efficiently? ;o)
Oh, tomorrow, I'm off to Reading to meet up with phoenicia (Silverwind Blade) as his folks are out for the weekend and no doubt I'll have some fun.
I guess I'm feeling better after a bit of retail therapy. I know I shouldn't be buying stuff due to my debt but I feel that I needed to reward myself in some way. Plus it'll be handy for travelling to work and stuff as I hate Sara Cox in the morning on Radio 1 and Mini Discs are just too much hassle to record.
