The light at the end of the tunnel?

slycatI remain skeptical as these sort of things never develop the way I want them to but I may be formulating a way to get a new job...
A friend of my brother's (Robin) gets the train between Southampton and London, as I do. Occaisonally, we get the same train, and as I know him through my brother, we have a bit of a natter on the journey. Sometimes, Robin is accompanied by his boss (Les) who also makes the trip and after a few beers on the train, we talk... I moan about how shit my job is and what I do and what I'm capable of and Les is quite impressed by this and (after a number of trips) asks for my CV. There's nothing available for me at the moment but he's quite high up in the company and is trying to get me in somewhere. Today, Les was there but Robin was on holiday so for the first time I'm with Les. It seems he's quite quick to mouth off about Robin saying how he doesn't push himself and learn the skills he needs to progress. As a result, he's not progressed much through the company. I used this to my advantage as I now knew what he was looking for and tried to put to him that I was who he needed. I explained how I can worth through technical problems logically and systematically, showed him my CV and left him very impressed :)
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this develops into something bigger. It'll still be work in London but there'll be chances to fly all over the world to install the product as the company has many huge clients all over the world :) It'd be starting at £18k with good salary increase chances if I show that I'm pushing myself, it starts at 9.30am rather than 8.30am, meaning I'd be able to sleep longer and not have to rely on lifts to the train station. It wouldn't be a local job but I think this is too good an oppertunity to miss out on.
