3 weeks until the big move
Dec. 8th, 2001 11:15 pmYep. It's quite frightening when I think about it. I will be saying goodbye to Hampshire and hello to London in 3 weeks. One side of me is excited. The other is cautious. This is because I am leaving all the security that comes with living with parents and I'm off into the big wide world to live for myself without support.
Everyone has to do it sooner or later. Ruin left home at 16 and has never looked back.... Others stay until their mid 30's... but they're just too afraid to make that jump I guess.
I am glad I'm moving in with people I know and can trust. If this oppertunity hadn't arisen when it did, I would have most likely quit my London job and found something more local to myself. The commute is just too tiring - I spend the weekdays just being permanently lethargic. The weekends just don't come soon enough. I should hopefully see the end of that with more sleep and less travelling.
It'll be great to have my own place. Even if it is more like having the same bedroom but in a different house. The people I'll be staying with are furry friendly so I may go back to pursuing fursuity type things which I had to hide before.
I was supposed to contact NTL today and sort out cancelling the account and stuff. I was also going to do my web site and maybe even organise my stuff as in what I need to chuck out, what I want to sell and what I want to keep. I did none of this. It was not because I got high, no, it was because I lazed about all day. Didn't get up properly until 3pm which didn't help. I'm going out tomorrow with a friend to shop and see Jay & Silent Bob so I doubt I'll do anything productive then either. Bleh!
Starting to feel tired now. I can't think of anything else relevant to type here so until next time...

Date: 2001-12-08 06:42 pm (UTC)I took my big jump at age 19 from living with parents to buying a house. Was a bit scarey at first, but I was too excited to really notice. I love it to this day and glad I did it. (tho I'm only 20 now and it's only been 10 months :P) I love having the freedom. Tho beware of the evil bills! o.O
