Looks like NTLs DNS servers are well and truely busted meaning I've not been able to get online all night. Unable to forfill my internet craving habit, I deceided to place games instead and had a good old go at the new Need For Speed: Underground.
Looks like they've tried to get away from the previous titles in the franchise which were basically drive a car you'll never be able to afford in a nice country landscape against other cars. The hot pursuit mode added a bit of variety and excitement in an otherwise boring game but they've certainly turned up trumps this time.
The new game is basically 2 Fast 2 Furious, the game. It was a shit film, the only thing going for it were the cars, this can only be a good thing as the game is focused on the driving experience rather than the non-existant story. You start off in the underground street racing world with a vanilla car and through the competitions, ranging from your bog standard race to drag racing and a drift course (get the biggest skid ;), you get to upgrade your car with fancy neon lights, nitros, engine upgrades, etc. It's been done before a million times (even as far back as Nitro or Supercars 2 on the Amiga) but EA have managed to do it well.
I've only been playing it for one evening really but I can say that if you prefer a bit of an arcade racer rather than a racing simulation, get hold of this and you won't be disappointed :)
Disclaimer: No, EA did not pay me to say any of this :P

Back in the real world, I got online now due to a handy proxy server which my bro found :) Hopefully NTL can get their shit together by tomorrow as I can't work out how to get MIRC to use the proxy.
Edit - In fact, look at how shit NTL are, they have replaced their homepage with something that might as well say "We are shit" - http://www.ntlworld.com
