Had a fun weekend despite Network Rail trying their hardest to upset my plans and Glis getting struck down with food poisoning the night before I was due to arrive. Anyway, the weekend basically involved myself and
acefox visiting
nonezumi and after a long journey that took me all over South West London due to engineering works, got to EG around 3ish. Glis was looking rather worse for wear considering his illness but we dropped into Sainsbury's for supplies such as beer and crisps while Glis got medicine.
The evening felt rather reminicent of times when I visited Glis when he lived back in Sidcup after a furmeet as the evening basically consisted of curry, alcohol, silly computer games and bonkers videos! However, Glis was unable to have the curry or alcohol due to his dodgy gut. Was the first chance I had to try out Atsumare!!! Made in Wario on the GC in more than 2 players. While it was fun, it was still somewhat disappointing an experience. Maybe because I knew all the minigames and the others didnt. Memorable videos were Sealab 2021 which was an old 70's cartoon that's been ripped to pieces and put back together with a new abstract script and computer technology. Needless to say, the result is a very amusing, odd show :)
Went to sleep around 3am after getting the theme from Billy Hatcher firmly lodged in our brains (never to escape). Got up at 11ish and watched Human Traffic before deciding to wake up properly and get to the pub for lunch. Had a wickedly nice BBQ chicken and bacon melt with chips followed by an overly sickly marshmallow and chocolate fondue. On returning to Glis' we were treated to the multitude of mad photos and images Glis had collected on his hard drive and before we knew it it was 5.30ish so had to think about leaving.
The trains this time took me all over the coast and almost to Portsmouth on my way home at the cost of £20... I was less than happy. Finally got home around 9.40pm utterly exhausted. And now my weekend is over already, these things never last long enough. Anyway, I've been away visiting folks for the past 3 weekends and can't really afford to do it any more until I get paid. This means I will most likely only go as far as Southampton next weekend and will not be going to the LondonFur meet.
I'm not looking forward to the trains tomorrow as there's a severe weather warning in place due to nasty storms. 2004 has been really shit to me in the train department so far, not ONE of my trains last week got me to work less than half an hour late or home on time. Is at the same time my monthly ticket's been increased by £13 too. Gah, the sooner I work locally the better!
