Weekend update
Apr. 25th, 2004 10:12 pmOn Friday, I went to see Kill Bill Vol. 2 with my brother. I enjoyed the film but the pace of the film was quite a contrast to that of the first volume. It made it a complete film however and added some depth to the story. Apparantly Tarantino is making a 4 hour edit of both films as one as he originally intended and it will be showing at arthouse cinemas. May be worth seeing that to get an extra perspective on the movie.
Over Saturday and today, I've mostly just been trying not to spend any money as I'm rather skint and payday is on Friday (I now get paid on the last Friday of every month rather than a specific date which makes monthly payments a bit awkward). Instead of going out, I was listening to music. When my Winamp playlist randomly selected the Rez soundtrack, I felt like playing the game. So in the first time since I have moved back from London (almost 2 years now), I got the Dreamcast out for a play. Maybe it's just nostalgia or fond memories but playing on the Dreamcast is such a joy. All the games are full of life which modern games seem to be devoid of due to the commercial machine. I found some sites and newsgroups and soon enough I had got copies of Space Channel 5 part 2 (after making about 10 coasters in the process, working out the way to burn a Dreamcast CD), Ikargua, Virtua Tennis 2, Sega Bass Fishing 2 and various other new additions to my collection. I even got a disc of Sierra adventure games which was amusing even if the games are rather boring.
Now I have my Dreamcast out and wired up, maybe I'll finally get round to completing Shenmue and play Shenmue 2 (Which I bought all those years ago but never played because I wanted to complete the first game before playing the sequel).
