I just remembered that as May is just round the corner, I would be dispatched my long awaited copy of Invader Zim - Vol. 1: Doom Doom Doom DVD from Amazon.com. Considering it's very close to the release date now (11th May), I decided to look on the more UK friendly (as it's a UK company) PlayUSA, and sure enough they are selling it for £14 with free postage to the UK. As it works out much cheaper there and inevitably, they will be much faster delivering than Amazon, I cancelled my order with Amazon and ordered with PlayUSA. Knowing Play, it will be less likely they will get it on or before the day or release like Amazon, but I may be lucky. I've actually received American DVDs from Play before the American release date before now :).

Oh, for Zim fans in America, they already have stock and are selling it in Hot Topic *envy*. Meanwhile, the DVD is loitering around the 25 spot for best selling DVDs on Amazon.com which is rather impressive considering the nature of the disc!

Edit: It's a mere £9.50 including free international postage from DVD Soon! I've just cancelled my order with Play and gone with them. I've used them before and they offer a good service. Usually takes about 1 week for delivery however.

Eeep.. must.. resist! And just to rub it in, Amazon UK's offering the DVD of Life of Mammals for £21 - but how good is it? I completely missed the series, unfortunately. Did he give red pandas a look?

Probably impossible, given everyone involved's gone on to other things, but I wonder if Nickelodeon could be tempted to produce another season, or even simply a special or two, if the DVD really does that kind of business.

So - that's about eight of the half-hour shows. That makes for, what, about three volumes in all?

I'm going to sing the Doom song now. ^_^

Yep, there's going to be 3 volumes sold in all. The people who were responsible for producing the discs, Media Blasters are also planning to make a limited edition box for the discs complete with another disk of extra features. Unfortunately the design for a big plush pig as a box for the DVD was rejected, instead they're going for a cardboard version of Zim's house.

Why is it calles PlayUSA if it is based in the UK? Shouldn't it be more like PlayUK?
