What is it with all these posts in LJ which are simply blatant requests for comments, presumably to increase the poster's self-esteem. First the "ask me 3 questions" thing and now "what would you like to do with me"...

I tend to use my journal to write about things I've done, plan to do or my feelings on certain stuff. True everyone's free to use their journal how the see fit but some of the posts just seem rude demanding you leave comments.

In other news, I've not posted here in a while and there's a reason for this. I plan to write up about it sometime soon, perhaps over the weekend when I know where I stand on the matter. In further mini news bites, I'm not going in to work tomorrow as I'm going on an "Appointed person" course (like a first aider but for smaller offices) which should be fun. It's nice to know my company is investing in me for such things, in the 6 years of my previous job, I never went on one training course...

I only get irritated when I see my friends page fill up with the things. I mean the 3 question thing was only last week, is this sort of post going to be a regular occurance?

Don't people have interesting things to say anymore?

That's cos I talk you you in IRC! It's much faster to communicate that way rather than over the medium of LJ comments :P

Why aren't you replying to the comments, just replying to the original post? It makes things confusing. There's a little "reply" button in the title bar of every comment.

What people write in their own journals is up to them

What you fail top realise is that this post is also just crying out to be commented on.

People will sometimes post things on theor LJ you just dont want to read - get over it.

It's simply good to be cared about. ^_^

Odd, perhaps, but actually receiving something physically does drive home, now and then, that there are some exceptionally sweet sorts out there; such as a particular CGI short, Bunny, which moved - moves - me deeply.. to receive a book of the story, including a DVD of said short, was a wonderful surprise indeed. (I only wish I could be with the sender much more often, but, so it goes)

From the first collection of "Lines which should have been in Barbarella, but weren't".

And yes, I'd concur on this particular "to do with me" thread.. if such popular enthusiasm could only be exhibited for expelling reckless politicians. ^_^

13!

"True everyone's free to use their journal how the see fit but some of the posts just seem rude demanding you leave comments."

Don't feel like it was directed specifically at you, the 'standard' format of the what would you want to do with me thing is written so it says "you must leave a comment if you read this". That's the thing that got under my skin.

C'mon sly.. it's not like we were demanding you leave a comment, it's a bit of fun, a different way. The problem with much written media is that there is no emotional inflections that can be shown with what's said.

In this effect, you'd seem to be taking everything serious.. where would we all fair with Oronas world domination plans if we were to take all journals seriously?

No comments doesnt mean no-one reads it. I'd much rather read about interesting things going on in people's lives than read about what vegetable you are or post things just cos other people do. I'd only post a comment if there was something that inspired me to write something.
