Friends of Friends

I just thought I'd take a moment to voice my appreciation of the Friends of Friends feature in LJ.  The feature is quite simple but has proven great for relieving boredom.  Some may say that I should get out more, get a hobby, read a book... but maybe it's the voyeur in me which needs satisfying!  Anyway, to those who don't know about it (as I didn't until recently), it can be accessed by visiting your normal friends page and then stick an extra "friends" on the end of the url.  For example, my one is http://slycat.livejournal.com/friendsfriends . My only gripe with it is that it shows all the posts from communities people are a member of.  timmypup was a member of gothic_babes which resulted in my Friends of Friends page being full of animal photos(!).  Tim's now removed himself from that community so at least I don't see those any more.  Rather than be selfish about such things and tell your friends they can't be a member of something cos you don't want to read them (no, that's not what happened with Tim, he's just done it of his own accord ;) ), there should be an option to hide all communities from view.

As a result of Friends of Friends, I've discovered other people who write stuff I find interesting so I've added them to my 'friends' list.  My friends list isn't so much a list of friends as the name suggests. It is a list of people who simply write stuff I find interesting to read :).  Anyway, I've added omega256 who reminds me a lot of a younger nonezumi (especially from his character pics) and he's got a fursuiting interest.  Suprised I hadn't stumbled upon him earlier to be honest (hello if you're reading).  hytiger has also recently added me.  I've no idea who they are, but hello all the same :).

So um yeah.  That concludes this pointless little post!

And youre the second person to say i remind them of a younger kev. Which is weird because quite frankly, i suck balls compared to his level of artistic ability at my age. Plus he seems a lot more..socially adjusted.

Oh sorry, my mistake. I looked at my FoF page and saw no gothic babes, I then quickly looked at your info page and saw that it wasn't listed in the "member_of" bit and thought you had removed it. However, I didn't realise the communities are higher up in the info page. So yeah, you are still watching the community. I guess they've lost interest in animals though.

You remind me of a younger Kev cos your character is a toony mouse with glasses and you have a similar drawing style (this pic specifically made me see the similarities. You also drew a pic of Tiny Toons which Kev's a big fan of :)

Don't put down your artistic ability, you have some supurb skills there! He is allowed to be slightly better than you, I mean he is 9 years older than you :P

jesus, 9 years. He *really* doesnt look it you know. Wel, last time i met him anyway. I dont have much contact with him these days. Not by choice, its just he doesnt seem to use, like. Aim, or yahoo...and i suck on telephones.

Yes, he's 30 next month believe it or not. He certainly doesn't look it. As for communication, the only IM he uses these days is MSN. Don't think he uses any of the others.

I have to admit that I've been less online recently than I have for a long time, but I am still about, barely! About the only thing I'm not doing is drawing these days, and I think you're definitely catching up and superceding what I'm capable of doing now :)

Certainly, I've been known to wander through friends' friends lists at random on occasion - there are some fascinating people out there. (And some eye-watering color combinations too)
