Anyways, I have today off work and so I got to have a bit of a lie in this morning. Down side of that was that Shinji went to bed before I woke... :-/ I hate time zones.
Well I went to the meet after all and it wasn't entirely bad. I got there at 1pm rather than 11am as I woke up at 8.30am and talked to Shinji for a bit before going off to the meet. The main problem about arriving at 1pm rather than 11am is that you get there on your own and I generally feel quite disorientated. So when I entered the funtion room in the pub, all I could manage was a nervous wave and a feable "Hi".
Then a guy dressed all in green / brown said "Heya" in a very pleased to meet you type voice and stood up and introduced me to all the people who I didn't recognise (Sorry, the names went in one ear and out the other). Pain was I didn't recognise the guy who was introducing me to the other guys and so I had to say "Um, sorry 'bout this, but who are you again?". I found out he didn't really have a furry name yet and so he wanted us to call him Dean.
I bought servings of green (Vodka, Blue Curaco and Red Bull) and tried to mingle with people but just ended up mainly chatting with Kurt, Astral, AceFox and NomadFox. I guess I could have done a better job at socialising but I don't think I was really in the mood. what I did want to do was to go and play some DDR (Dance Dance Revolution / Dance Stage - www.ddrfreak.com). I know Ace wanted to play it too but we needed to get more folks interested. With furs, it takes frigging ages to get them to do anything. So in the end, I just wanted to leave and play it as I wanted to get some games in as it's not only fun but exercising.
In the end about 10 of the furs managed to pull themselves away from the pub and went on our way. Kashy wanted to play on the one in Hamleys as it gives you 4 tracks for £1 while others only give you 3 tracks. So we went via Leicester Square and got McDonalds or KFC (I opted for the latter). In the end I managed to rack up a total of 1 go on the game as AceFox, Kashy and Paddy monopolised it and then we had to go to Namco to meet up with the others. So we went in the direction of the Oxford Circus station only to find stupid numbers of people going into the station. We decided to play safe and walk down Oxford Street to Tottenham Court Road.
Nomad challenged me to a go on DDR once we got to Namco as he's not played it much and I'm nowhere as near as good as Ace or Paddy. when we got there, we found that Glis and someone were playing on the game and so I got some change and slapped up a quid to be the next player after the ones that were already on there. After Glis had played he went down to the bar and so it was just me left and I wasnt going to just play on my own. I withdrew my money to go downstairs and catch up with the others. Later returned to find that there were around 5-6 quids on the game and so we didnt have a hope of getting on there soon.
Walked around a bit. Saw Paddy play stupidly well at EZ 2 Dancer and had a go on the game behind it which was a new one but turned out to be crap. Time went on and so I had to leave due to me going back the same day. I showed Fantum to Waterloo too as he wasn't too sure where it was.
Got home around 9.15 and chatted to Shinji a bit before going to sleep.
On sunday I met up with a friend who lives locally that I've not seen in ages. We went to town and saw Scary Movie 2 which was OK. My friend really liked it however. Played a bit of pool which I could only win by him downing the black prematurely... Oh well :P
Well I gotta tidy this room today as it couldn't be in more of a state as the cable guys are coming on Wednesday and need to be able to get in my room :P
