My weekend. In excruciating detail.
Oct. 20th, 2002 08:01 pmSaturday
On Saturday, I went up to London again to meet
hawx for general stuff. I managed to get to London at 11, an hour earlier than I had arranged to meet Hawx, at 12. So while at Waterloo, I bought myself the new Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island for GBA and played that for about half an hour (Is really good!). Sometime around 12, Hawx texted me to go to the bar at Virgin at TCR as that's where others were meeting. Got there around 12.15 and had an over priced brownie and a Pepsi. Played the table top arcade games (Galaga, Puck Man and Scramble) a bit while waiting for people to arrive.
hybryd showed up around 12.45 and was shortly followed by Bruce (
growf) and
vandringsjakal. Hawx was next to arrive, must have been around 2 and we were really bored from sitting in Virgin now...
We ventured off to get Hawx some chinese food which he thought was really bland... Um, went to TCR station where Bruce managed to catch
scruff before he wondered off somewhere wondering where we were. Went to Camden and met up with
makali in the Devonshire Arms.
vexen appeared randomly and we spent some time drinking and playing with pink glowsticks. I somehow got tipsy on one pint of Kronenbourg so I thought it would be best to go off and do foo in Camden. I took my t-shirt back to CyberDog and exchanged it for a larger one (Got L by mistake the previous week), had a slice of Pizza and a donut before wondering back to the Dev.
More alcohol down, we decided we would go bowling at Namco Station. I came second which was nice, Hawx got 141 or something while I was lucky to get over 100 :P I had a go on Dance Stage Euromix 1 against Hawx who did suprisingly well... He beat me on a few tracks but he didn't realise there were 5 tracks to play and so didn't have enough energy for the rest. I managed to keep going until half way through the last track and so I decided to call it a day. It was around 7pm so I made my goodbyes and walked back to Waterloo. Got home shortly before 9 and was knackered and so promptly went to bed.
Come to think of it, that day was eerily just like how furmeets used to go before we moved to the Jorene Celeste...
Sunday
Not much planned for today initially but
kashyfox texted me inviting me to join him at PC Arena (multiplayer gaming place) for a few games at 2pm. So I made my way over there, buying Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 for PC (Featuring Six Flags parks!) and FabricLive 03: DJ Hype en-route. I was there dead on 2pm but Kashy wasn't anywhere to be seen. I called him and it turned out he was being held back cos he had to wash the dishes and would be over in about 10 mins. I explained this to the guy at PC Arena and he gave me 10 free minutes - w00t! Shortly after 10mins, Kashy, his dad and brother and Alex (A fur who I can't remember the furry name of, and no, it wasn't Strider. White Wyvern or something?) showed up. Alex turned out to be amazing at Soldier of Fortune 2 while I was compeltely shit (In fairness, I've not got the game and had only ever played it once before) and I was OK at Counter Strike. They'll be getting UT2003 soon allegedly so I'll be very happy once they do.
We played for a total of 2hrs before we left to have Subway and then we went our seperate ways. Was nice to actually do something, I had a fun time. However I really should be filling in my application form for the position of "ICT Technician" at Romsey School right now... (Grr! Another government job! I hate these forms you have to fill out!) so I'm off to do that now... bye!
PS. Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 was a bit of a dissappointment. Looks exactly the same as the previous one. Should have been an addon pack really. Bleh. That'll teach me for buying before reading the reviews. Not really played it much yet but from reading the manual, it certainly looks like more of the same (Even if that was good but they really should have put some effort in if they were selling it as the sequal).
