I've recently been reading through my Red Dwarf book collection, starting with Red Dwarf: Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers followeb by Better Than Live, both by Grant Naylor (Rob Grant & Doug Naylor). After those books, the authors split to do their own version of the continuation of the series so effectively you get part 3, version 1 and part 3, version 2. I first read Backwards by Rob Grant as this more naturally continues from Better Than Life and when I finished that, I read Last Human by Doug Naylor. Of the two sequels, while both are much darker than the previous two, I have to say that Backwards was by far a more enjoyable novel.

Anyway, as I was coming to the end of Last Human today, I set out to get me a new book. After a quick look on the internet, it looks like Rob Grant has written a new book called "Colony". Also Robert Llewellyn (Who plays Kryten in the show) has written a number of acclaimed novels. So I set off to the WHSmiths local to my work (The ONLY bookshop in Wandsworth) to find that they had no books by either Mr Grant or Mr Llewelyn. Most peeved off, I started to walk out the shop but noticed Stupid White Men by Michael Moore. Considering the good things I've heard about the book and the fact I really like Michael Moore, I decided to buy the book.

I'm only about 40 pages in to the book but I'm finding it quite an interesting yet entertaining read. The introduction set the mood well and then it went full on, into the issues Mr Moore was setting out to detail. I'll write more about the book as I progress further through it.

In other news, on the way to work, I was listening to a new MP3 CD that I burned the previous night with the new albums I bought the other day coupled with random MP3s that are on my hard disk. When I listened to the Pet Shop Boys - Eclipse '99 (Which I recorded off Radio 1 live during the eclipse), I became filled with emotion (Which was quite a strange experience while sitting on a commuter train). I don't know, I became quite nostalgic and stuff... hard to explain.

Anyway, as it probably exists nowhere on the internet, I've uploaded it into my web space. Download and enjoy it by clicking the link below.
