Just come back from this year's Christmas do for work. Was a relatively mellow affair when compared to
last year's shennanigans... After work, we went to the local pub where I had a Coke and then a Smirnoff Ice. Managed to have conversation without making an arse of myself. We later left for the restaurant, a trendy bar type affair really called the Boom Bar in Clapham.
Erm, nothing really of note. Had a onion soup with cheese covered croutons for starters which was interesting... Not had one of those before. Then I had a traditional roast turkey disk with potatos, stuffing, etc. Drank 2 more Smirnoff Ice's and had to leave before my dessert was served up (It was only going to be an apple tart anyways, however if it had been a chocolate dessert, I would have probably tried to get a later train) as I had to get the 9pm train from Clapham. Had the chance to talk to other members of staff I wouldn't normally talk to... but nothing really worth talking about :P How boring!
Also today, I bought a present to share amongst the HantsFurs at tomorrows HantsFur X-Mas meal. Nothing special as I'm relatively skint but I'm sure it'll do. Read the first 8 chapters of Brother Nature by Robert Llewellyn and am really getting into it. It's not like the normal sort of novel I would read but it's kept my interest and hasn't scared me off with too many words that you'd only know if you had committed the English dictionary to memory... So that's all good. I get the feeling that it's just coming up to it's first twist but I'll have to wait and see.
So yeah, as I say, plans for tomorrow evening include the HantsFurs X-Mas meal. Before that, I shall be testing out replacement hi-fis and prior to that I'm getting me hair cut. Sunday is yet to be planned really - possibly have a lazy day.
