I'm not sad, honest! :D
Jan. 16th, 2003 10:25 pmYes, I've just preordered the new Harry Potter book. My reasons for this are:
1) I read the previous four and found them quite addictive and engrossing.
2) It's half price if I order from Amazon before the 17th Jan (Tomorrow).
3) I want to know what happens next in the story!
Just to prove that I'm not one of those people who says that they read books but have only ever read the Potter books, I also ordered Sudden Wealth by Robert Llewellyn which should be a good read considering Brother Nature was so brilliant IMO.
Also on the subject of books, I was listening to XFM on the way into work this morning and heard an advert for new book, "Flood". A disaster story about what would happen if London sunk under water through freak weather. Well not "sunk" as such, more submersed I guess. Anyway, I bought myself a copy upon arriving at Waterloo and am currently about 50 pages into it. So far it's been describing how the storm grew, devastated America before making it's way over to the British Isles while also describing the Thames Barrier and stuff. I hope it gets more into the story soon as it feels like it's still setting the scene. More info on this to follow if it's actually any good or not :)
