Gameboy Advance Development foo
Apr. 1st, 2003 11:09 pmNo, I'm not writing games for the Gameboy, it's just that that is what this is officially called. I bought a Flash2Advance linker and flash cart from the nice people at Console Plus which arrived today (Speedy next day delivery no less). However, my heart sank when it refused to work with my GBA SP. Turns out that it seems that the UK GBA SP is slightly different to that of the Japanese and USA ones as the software will not upload to the gameboy.
I tested uploading Zelda: A Link to the Past / The Four Swords using my brother's Japanese GBA SP and it worked without any problems. After many emails sent back and forth with the company (they were even replying to my emails at 10pm!) we have come to a compromise. Basically, I can send the cable back for £10 while he lets me have the USB Extreme linker for £15 (Retail at £25 but he wants to help me out). so that makes a total cost of £5 for the replacement unit.
I've found this place to provide exceptional customer support, it is quite refreshing to find that some companies still value their customers even after they have got their money. I'm guessing that this company must be a small business, possibly family owned. I only hope they don't grow to where lots of companies are where they are really bad to their customers... (The company I work for is of no exception).
