Londinium

So, I'm off to London today to attend my first LondonFur meet in 6 months.  I don't expect anything to have changed really, and for that reason, I plan to spend as little time in the pub as possible.  I expect to meet up with folks I like and get on with such as [livejournal.com profile] nonezumi, and [livejournal.com profile] xendragon and then bugger off elsewhere.  Sitting in a hot pub all day with a room full of horny gay teenagers is generally not my idea of fun.  So I just want to have a good time with friends.  I've not really been doing much in the furry community recently, and to be honest, I'm beginning to wonder if I still care.  Theres some things I like about it but for every good thing, I can usually think of at least 10 bad...

Anyway, if you're reading this and you are going and want to meet up, give me a buzz (assuming you have my mobile number), or reply to this post as I can get email on the move, and I'll see about meeting up.

Meetage

I went to the LondonFur meet today and to my suprise, I actually had a good time!  What made it good was not that it was a furry meet, it was good about it was that a number of other people who hadn't gone in ages also decided to make their reapparance at this meet.  So, amongst others, I had a good time in the company of [livejournal.com profile] xendragon, [livejournal.com profile] growf, [livejournal.com profile] abinturongbinks, [livejournal.com profile] bhavfox, [livejournal.com profile] nonezumi and [livejournal.com profile] makali.  The meet was held in the Bell Book and Candle pub near St Paul's Cathedral which was a sort of horror themed pub where everything was black and they had screaming sounds piped into the toilets.  I helped myself to a "Monster Burger" which is 12oz of beef patties combined with a healthy dose of cheese and two pieces of bacon for good measure.  It was only £5.75ish and so for value for money, I recommend it.  Very tasty :)  Also in the pub was a vast number of people I didn't reckognise, many of them were the horny teenagers I predicted in my previous post but there was also a number of girls at the meet which was rather strange.  After pub and alcohol consumption, we buggered off to Namco for some pool and random games.  Beat Glis in 2 out of 2 games of Outrun 2 (great game!) and he thrashed me at Dancing Stage (I was happy to have the exercise and burn that burger off to be honest).  Time passed and before I knew it, it was 8pm and so Xen and I headed for Waterloo.

True, I didn't do a heck of a lot at the meet.  I also didn't really talk to anyone other than those I know but still, I enjoyed myself.  I expect I might well go again depending on who else attends.  I think the furry bug has bitten me again as I've returned to IRC and am not finding it a totally tedious experience.

Oh, also Xen and I have the same shoes (black/red Vans trainers) which was kinda weird.
