A good weekend
Apr. 11th, 2005 10:32 pmHad a very good weekend to cap off my time off work. Went to London on Saturday and met up with
arakinuk. I had set out a route that would take us around all the shops and not involve the tube at all. From Waterloo, we walked up to Covent Garden and to CyberCandy. I hadn't ever been to CyberCandy before and so now I had found it, I ended up spending in excess of £15 on random treats from around the world. After that, we went via Leicester Square (and Ben & Jerry's), past Piccadilly Circus, up Regent Street and into the Mac shop *cringe*. Next we wondered down Oxford Street and up Tottenham Court Road to CEX. There was nothing I wanted so we got the bus up to Camden (too far to walk but I wasnt gonna use the tube). Had a look around the markets where I got myself a Muttley t-shirt and Arakin got a Tundercats one. I also got a nice looking t-shirt from Cyberdog which I can probably wear to work (nothing too extreme). We had food at Camden, Arakin had some random chinese stuff while I had a Fajita which was rather tasty.
With our bellies full of dodgy Camden food, we got the bus back to Tottenham Court Road and walked down Charing Cross Road to Old Compton Street. We had milkshakes at Ed's diner before walking further down into the depths of Soho, where we bumped into
eldabion (Shaan) by freak chance of nature (what are the likely chances of meeting a fur in Soho on a day when there isnt a furmeet?). We went to the Las Vegas arcade and played a bit of DDR and other games and then went to the Play 2 Win arcade where Shaan convinced me to play on Para Para. Turned out I was rather good at it and discovered that it helps playing if you're a bit camp... which was new for me :P Next stop, down Shafstbury Avenue was the Trocadero where we had a go on OutRun 2 SP (it was a close match but I won in the end ;) ). We decided to call it a day after that and made our way back to Waterloo to get the trin back to Arakin's.
Next day we went to see Ring 2 at the local cinema. While it was OK, it wasn't as good as the first one which I had enjoyed in the cinema. It seemed that there was a lack of any real plot, which the first one had, until the last 30mins where it all went a bit fast. I hadnt seen the original Japanese Ring 2 so I dont know if it has anything to do with the original story... but it could have been better.

In contrast to the good weekend I had, I woke up and felt awful this morning. I figure it must have been food poisoning or maybe I had just eaten far too many sweets. Had a fried breakfast and spag bol with Arakin on the Sunday but he didn't feel ill at all today... so I'm guessing it was either the sweets or the Fajita. I wasn't feeling well enough to go to work and so for the first time in as long as I can remember, I took a sick day. I still have a bit of a dull headache / temperature at the moment now but I'm sure I'll be fine for work tomorrow.
