slycat: (Human - Contemplating)
I got paid today.  Now that's normally a good thing.  However when I saw the amount, I was over £300 short of my normal pay.  When I called up to ask why, I was told it was for the Statutory Sick Pay while I was off work sick for 3 weeks.  I wasn't aware this was going to happen, I thought I'd just get full pay (maybe rather naively).  My contract is rather vague on the subject, it just says I'm entitled to SSP and doesn't detail it any further.  I don't know if there's anything I can do to reclaim my missing moneys as the more I look into it, the more it looks as though my work was entitled to do this.  It just came as quite a shock as when I was off for a week in my previous company, they still paid up for the time I was off.

So, this month will be a rather tight month.  It's not too bad as I don't pay £200 a month for my loan any more, it just means I can pay less than I wanted off my credit cards this month.  As such, my damaged camera is proving to be more a blessing than a curse as the company I bought it from only refund, not replace.  So once I get the money for that, it won't be so bad.  Also, the very camera I bought is now in Amazon's summer sale at the price of £159!  That's £21 less than what I paid so in a round about way, I'm saving money.

That said, it won't stop me from putting stuff on eBay over the coming weeks.  A selection of the stuff I'll be selling is as follows:
  • Nokia 6600 (sim-free) with extra 128mb MMC
  • Sony DVD / hi-fi combo
  • Red Dwarf Re-mastered VHS series 1-3
  • Johnny The Homocidal Maniac graphic novel (never read)
  • Work of Director: Spike Jonze DVD (unopened)
  • Rez for Dreamcast (still factory wrapped and never opened)
  • Samsung VHS recorder (NTSC compatible)
  • Zip Drive 100 and 10 discs
  • Many used DVDs and games which will take a while to list
If anyone's interested in anything in the about list, give me an offer and I'll consider it.  I need to start putting stuff on eBay by Sunday however.

Looks like my domain www.fursuit.co.uk has expired today.  As such I can't get my email sent to that domain until it's fixed.  UKREG/Fasthosts, the registrar should have renewed it automatically, but it turns out that as I transferred the domain in, it didnt have any billing information associated with it and wasn't renewed.  Blokey at Fasthosts says that he should be able to get that fixed in the next 24hrs.  I expect Fasthosts may have tried to contact me by email about it but they still have my really old 24-7freecall.net email address which I literally havn't used in over 5 years.  I have to call their accounts team who are only available from 9-6 on working days which makes it difficult to fix... but at least the domain should be fixed.

If for any reason you need to contact me by email, please send mails to slycatuk@gmail.com.

EDIT: Looks like the domain is working... for now. Wasn't before I called Fasthosts. The whois still says it needs renewing tho.
