End of another weekend

You know when you need a holiday when you just feel like you're relaxing from the week of work and suddenly it's midnight on the Sunday.

Anyway, on Sat was the LF meet.  I had a better time than the last one I went to, however I didn't really like the pub that my lot ended up in, "The Hole in the Wall".  We were gonna go to Namco but it was taken for some sort of organised event.  For the rest of the meet, I didn't really do much other than stay at the pub.  But considering all I wanted to do was to share good company and drink alcohol, I was content.

After the meet, I went to the halloween party hosted by beaitchtwo.  Despite the nice cake, the party turned into something Daisy Steiner from Spaced would have have organised :P

Today, I've not been doing much other than playing games like Stubbs the Zombie on the Xbox and have also been naughty in spending out on a new graphics card.  I guess I have kinda let myself down on this one as I don't really need it and I've already got my flights to pay off this month, however it is my birthday on Tuesday so hopefully I should be able to recover some of the cost in birthday money :).  Having a rubbish graphics card is my main reason I've not really bothered with PC games beyond Half Life 2.  However with the new card, I'll be able to take advantage of games such as F.E.A.R. and others.

Stuff to look forward to

Looks like it's all happening tomorrow.  Firstly, my Mum's deposited an undisclosed amount of funds to my bank account for my birthday which I should be able to see tomorrow.  Considering I already pay her £150/mo for housekeeping/food/rent/etc, it probably would have been easier to waive that for a month, but regardless extra money is always appreciated.  I'll be able to use it to put towards the flights which I paid off today.  Such a relief to know I'm all paid up and the tickets are mine.  Really need to sort out where I'm staying in FC, shall need to discuss that with nomadfox.

I should also be in receipt of my new graphics card tomorrow.  I chose to go for the 128mb Gigabyte Geforce 6600GT (looks like I snapped up the last one as they're out of stock now).  I primarily went for that one over others due to the fact that it's silent and means the PC should be a little quieter.  clawz_skunk said he'd be interested in taking my old MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200 off my hands for a tenner so at least I'm getting the postage back for it.  It's a shame really considering I bought that card for £150 :P

I've also bought Season 1 of Drawn Together on DVD as it contains the unaired episode and other extras which I don't have from the downloaded episodes.  I'm enjoying the new season which is currently airing at the moment.  I would say it's more of the same, but it seems that they're trying to get away with even more bad taste than they did in the last season!  Finally, I've also ordered myself some essiential blank DVDs which will probably arrive tomorrow.
