Positive Fursuit News

Looks like I'm in with a good chance of getting the suit (or at least partial) in time for EF after all.  Got a call during my lunch from Sandroo saying that Parcelforce had sent a letter saying they were holding a package under my name and would deliver it on receipt of payment for custom duties and VAT.

Looks like it arrived in Parcel Force Coventry on the 17th, the letter was sent on the 18th and obviously it only arrived today.  I bloody hate customs... comes from the parcel being marked as worth £200 I guess.  Anyway, the payment came to £32.52 which wasn't that bad.  I promptly paid it and it should be delivered to Sandroo's tomorrow.  Hopefully, Colifox will be able to collect the suit from Sandroo's tomorrow on his way south and I'll collect it from him at the airport tomorrow.

So yeah, it's great to finally get some good news on the subject.  I just hope the head, paws and tail don't look too bad as a partial.  Looks like I'll have to wear a long sleeve top at least as the paws don't have sleeves.

An Arty Post!

As I've just got round to updating my site with new pics, I thought I'd make an LJ post to highlight them too.  Firstly is a con badge drawn by Marci McAdam.  I've had it since FC2006 where I commissioned her to do it (she was the only artist I bothered commissioning at FC in the end) but I've not bothered to grab a pic of it until now.  As you can tell, I'm a bit lazy :P  Anyway, it's very nicely done, but there was something about it I didn't quite like.  Dunno what it is, maybe just not cute enough.  This was before Kei inspired me to have yellow eyes on the character.  As I've no scanner, the picture itself is photographed using my phone which is why it's a bit dark.

The second is by colifox, a pic I had mentioned here before but didn't make a big post about it.  It's a pic of SlyCat playing a game on a PSP.  Probably struggling with those big paws and little controls :P.  I liked the way this pic came out, shows Sly in more realistic size compared with the slinkiness of Kei's pic and the look on his face is spot on :).

The third is a sketch by omega256 (Murray Mouse) who was also visiting Sandroo this weekend.  As discussions generally are in the company of friends, random topics come up, specifically the classic bit in Pepe Le Pew cartoons where the kitty accidentally gets a white stripe painted down her back and is mistaken for a skunk. I came up with the obvious idea it'd be cute to see SlyCat in such a situation.  Once Murray had drawn the pic of SlyCat, he needed inspiration of how he neded up like that.  I suggested a mischevious skunk with a paint brush and he drew Fifi LaFume of Tiny Toons fame as the culprit.  Came out very nice, I love it to bits.
