So as the FC rate hotel rooms became available today, I decided that I'd snap one up. I enjoyed FC this year a lot and it's still in the same hotel next year meaning it's likely the available rooms will go pretty quickly. For this year, I had to send a friendly request out on LJ for anyone who has a space in their room which was greatfully responded to thanks to Stego and Kat but this time round with my own room I'll be able to call the shots which a great position to be in. Now at both FC and AC last year, I ended up sharing with others, some I didn't know, some I kinda knew but on both counts I really enjoyed meeting all the new people however this time round it'll be nice to be able to call the shots.
I've reserved the room for the Wednesday 21st until Monday 26th and have requested it be on the fursuit floor. This will mean I'll miss out on the Dead Dog Party unless I amend my reservation or make alternative arrangements. I figured after last year, I'd like to have a day to settle in at the con and hang out with the other newcomers and cut off the depression which can set in after the con by not hanging around like I did this year. I expect I'll look to getting flights around August/September time like I did last year as that's when the sales are on. One thing I'll be looking to do before or after the con will be hanging out in the bay area. I'll definitely do San Francisco again as I really enjoyed that in 2006, LA's not that great in comparison. Plenty of time to plan for that at least.
Anyway, as long as nothing untoward happens to me over the rest of the year, consider this my commitment to getting myself to FC 2009!
