28 and still going
Nov. 1st, 2008 10:37 pmEvery year since 2001 I've made a post on my birthday. Reading through them shows that I generally seem to be quite depressed on my birthday. Probably due to the build up to the day which you're used to from your younger years, but now it's an anti-climax every time. Here's my posts from the past 7 years: 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007
It's kinda up and down but I can say I'm pretty much over my annual birthday emo stage. While not a lot happened today, I still had a great day. Basically I had a pretty lazy day other than meeting up with some people from work for steak at the new Rancho Steakhouse which has opened recently. It was a tad on the pricy scale (2 beers, main and dessert was £30) but the quality of the food was fantastic. One of the guys, Chris, had a 400g fillet steak which cost £23 alone and had it served blue... he really loved it, but I don't think I could stomach that kinda rareness, I generally tend to go for medium-well :P. It was certainly somewhere I'll be visiting again in the future and I'd recommend it to others! I took some pics, but as they're of work people I've put them on my Facebook. It would have been nice to have more people there, but then again we may have had trouble getting a table with more than 6 of us.
Anyhoo, that's about it really. Thanks to those who have wished me a happy birthday. Didn't really get any presents this year other than £20 from the grandparents which helped pay for the meal, but I'm not really too concerned. As I'm older now presents aren't really that expected so if I did get something it'd be a nice surprise. My bro lent me Dead Space and Fallout 3 to play while he finishes Fable 2 so at least I won't have to buy them which is cool.
It'll be interesting to see if my 29th yeilds any interesting new developments. I guess I'll have to wait to find out.
