An update!
Jun. 5th, 2009 12:12 amBlimey, I really don't post here that often any more. I used to post almost once a day but now it's only if I'm doing something out of the ordinary which I feel is relevant to my LJ presence. I mostly blame this on Twitter which has now become home of my random thought nuggets. As with most people who signed up for Twitter, I didn't expect to find much use for it. I only signed up for it during FC09 as people were making posts about the con at the con and I couldn't see them without Twitter. Since then I've made over 1200 updates and have over 100 followers... not too sure how that happened.
Anyway, part of me is thinking not everything in life can be fit into 140 characters and so should probably update here more often. Problem is, not a huge amount is going on in my life. Obviously I had ConFuzzled recently which I wrote a massive update about, I really enjoyed the con and it exceeded all of my expectations. Had awesome roomies, met some great people who I hope to see again, the location was fantastic and it was all run really professionally despite the vast majority of the staff being people I knew :P
I expect that I will be going to the other UK furry con, RBW (which now means Rather Brilliant Weekend) which happens over the Halloween weekend. It'll be a different experience compared with ConFuzzled as with CF, they took over the whole venue whereas with RBW, they're not taking up the whole hotel. Also everyone knows how much of a mess RBW was last year but I understand that lessons have been learnt and everything's going a lot smoother this time round. ConFuzzled felt like a proper international convention with plenty of people from all over Europe as well as some people from North America attending. I'm not sure if RBW has got to such a level where it's attracting the number of foreign attendees that CF did but I may be corrected here. If it's just mostly people from the southern counties going then it'll feel like a massive multiday LondonFur meet. That said, they do have their hallmark event, the boat party which I've yet to do but looks like it could be a lot of fun.
Talking about LondonFur stuff, I've managed to move my on-call cover so it no longer coincides with the LondonFur meets (I'm on call once every 3 weeks) and as a result, I'll be going to my first LondonFur meet this year on the 13th June. Hopefully there'll be plenty of other oldies to hang out with as I feel I don't really have much in common with the younger attendees. It's in the alternative location of Jamie's Bar which I've not been to before but I hear it's a nice venue. See you there if you're going :)
