Return of the Photos!
Jun. 14th, 2010 08:19 amAs you may recall, I lost all of the photos from my sites along with everything else when my hosting company suffered a catastrophic failure and lost all their data and didn't have the wisdom to keep a backup. Sadly, I didn't have a full backup either and so I have had to salvage what I could. One problem that remained was that on the new server, the photo galleries wouldn't generate thumbnails and so were useless. However through no help from my host and a lot of perseverence on my part, I've now been able to rebuild the galleries... to an extent.
The Furmeets UK Gallery was largely made up of photos I had taken, but also a lot of people had contributed photos to the site. I've been able to recover a large number of my own photos but there's still a large gap there; specifically between 2004 and 2008 in the LondonFurs and I know there's some HantsFurs stuff missing. I honestly thought that I had them all stored someplace but it seems that was not the case. I made a plea on the UKFur Forums to request that if people have any meet photos they'd like to help use to repopulate the site with, they can register and start uploading.
However, I do have all my convention photos and so I've just finished re-uploading them all now to my personal gallery. All that remains now is to finally sort out my ConFuzzled 2010 photos and get those uploaded too!
While I'm on the subject of photos, be sure to check out my snaps from the recent HantsFurs Basingstoke Bowling meet :)
Note: As I've had to reupload everything, it's possible that stuff people had previously requested be removed is now back online. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need anything embarassing removed!
