I wanted to update the HantsFurs page on WikiFur and thought "Why not register for the site?". Which I promptly did and ended up creating a nifty little page for myself at User:SlyCat, and also I went on to create various other updates and things.  The London Furmeet page had the LondonFur meets as a regular event since 1997 which was incorrect.  There may have been sporadic events previously but the Londonfur meets only officially were every 3 weeks since 1999.  In fact, the whole entry for London Furmeet needs a complete overhaul to be honest...

It does rather. Much though we all revere [livejournal.com profile] makali he's hardly a fixture in the London furry scene these days.

Hey, would you like the pictures I took at the meet for the furmeet photo site?

I might see about going over the LondonFur meet entry at some time and probably see about expanding on the info on the LondonFurs page.

As for the photos, you can create yourself an account on the Furmeets UK site and upload the photos there if you like.

It'll have to wait for a while till Arakin finds the right leads to be able to get the photos off the camera and onto the computer, but yes, I will.

Technically, Ia'Kat was the person who pretty much started the meets; he was the one who organised them. At first, there wasn't really any base. I think I went along to the 2nd or 3rd one, and that was just wandering around ending in St James' park. As it got toward Winter, and a few more people turned up, it began to drift toward the Intrepid Fox during the tail-end of the day. (There was one pub used before that though IIRC).

I think the first I went to was around mid-1998, given that I was still living in Crayford for the first one I went to, and I left that place in June 1998 to move to Sidcup. This would put the first LFM at about March/April 1998. They were admittedly a little more sporadic early on, of course.

You did also miss out the pub in Camden as well, of course; the Devonshire Arms, which was used for quite a while before moving onto the Jorene Celeste. :)

I didn't write the majority of that entry, just made a little tweak here and there. Like I say, when I have time, I'll probably go over it and completely re-write it. Sounds like I could use your knowledge to help fill in the gaps :)

I agree - perhaps relegate names to a 'regulars' section and encourage people to add themselves? Also, hasn't it been like a year since AntiCarrot turned up at a meet? Not to be mean-spirited, but were any of us really 'fixtures'? :)
