Not so sure about the driving game but Daxter is very much being imported as we speak for the same reason of all those nice reviews. And I also saw a video and thought the li'l guy was so well animated that I just had to have it.
Lumines I still go back to, Katamari I don't really, given that I've pretty much got my scores as high as they'll go - good stuff, but not much of it. But I agree that developers seem to be trying a bit harder lately.
