Contact lense wearers worst fear realised

Last night I made the mistake of trying to remove my contact lenses without being in front of a mirror.  I removed the left one easily enough, but when it came to the right one it felt like I hadn't removed it.  I went to look at the eye in the mirror and it was red from poking but there was no lense to be seen.  I thought I could feel the lense on the eye still but decided it was just because I made the eye sore.  However, this morning I can still feel something on the eye.  The eye's still red and something's definitley wrong.  I'm going to go down to Southampton General Hospital this morning to see if they can do anything.

Could've been worse, you could've thought it was still in there when it wasn't, and peeled off your cornea :)

nah, you kinda know if the lense is in cos stuff is blurry :P

Sounds like a course of prednisalone eye-drops is in order. (Yeah, did something similar myself - don't put contact lenses on with unwashed hands in a nightclub bathroom :P)
