Fursuit No-show

Well, it's now only 3 and a half weeks until I set off for America and Anthrocon 2007 and amazingly, I still do not have my full fursuit. I've been emailing fairly regularly asking for updates but I've not a peep since the start of April. This is all following the woefully untrue empty promise which I've since become used to as posted in this LJ entry. Needless to say, despite repeated attempts to get an explanation, I've just been faced with a brick wall of silence so I really don't think this will happen.

This is even worse than the way I was treated coming up to EF when I was in a will I / won't I situation with the promised partial, but here, I'm not hearing a thing. I was supposed to get this full fursuit in time for FC2006 and I was completely paid in full as of December 2005. FC came and went and last minute, I got the head and paws for EF. However it has now been 10 months since EF. 10 months to finish the rest of the suit. The suit which should have been completed 17 months ago.

Ah, I'll continue my chasing and see if I get anywhere. Who knows, I might be suprised. I'll finish this post with a picture behind a link.


This is a pic of my head and paws worn with the crappy first body suit I ever got combined with the painful to wear (due to being too small) feet Sandroo made for me an age ago. I just wanted to see how it could look had I a full fursuit again. Doesn't look too bad to be honest, but the bodysuit isn't very good and I can't wear the feet for extended periods.

Don't know what they could do to be honest. I've never had any sort of formal contract saying I had paid for the work. Though I did pay via paypal so could look to them for reclaiming the cash for the unfinished work.

Your far more leniant than I was when I was persuing my rabbit fursuit recently. Im a bitter person tho so I guess if I were in your shoes, I would have done my level best to absolutely destroy this persons credibility and reputation as a trusted fursuit maker - and there are many forums on which you could post to do this. The person in my eyes doesnt deserve a single ounce of remorse. At the end of the day, its theft.

Im sure she has her own personal issues and people would deem my approach a bit cold and callous but hey, Ive worked in customer services now for years - and regardless of any behind the scenes issues, there is a level of expectation of a paying customer...and once monies have exchanged hands - your issues are not mine.

Well Im sorry you dont have your full suit - I think your photo looks fine but those feet paws do indeed look tight. Its quite easy to make some yourself, Ive actually been building my own partial and its coming along rather well :) Hope to debut him at EF this year :P

Hey, what feet are those? I have some I got from sandroo ages ago too, they're quite big and might work better. They haven't been furred up either, so could be made into white ones. I'll take a measurement of em if you want.
The bodysuit doesn't look so bad either. You could try and take in some of the excess material to make it more figure hugging.

I'll be honest, i've been slack once or twice. However, I won't just disapear on someone. I'll say,
"Look i'm busy, can you handle waiting an extra week".

Just giving you an option, but if you really are worried about not having it by AC, just know I can have you new body, feet and what ever you like with in the next week.

But hopfully Jax will get back to you soon.

The feet are one of Sandroo's prototype feet, before he perfected them by making the larger feet which is probably what you have. I wouldn't have a clue about furring up your feet however. The bodysuit is made from really cheap fur (that still leaves fluff everywhere despite being 7 years old) and is made in 2 parts, a top and bottom. I'd rather keep the suit a partial than see to modifying that suit to fit better.

Wow, that's a great offer, I didn't realise fursuiters can produce work so quickly. I guess I've just been jaded by my experience with Jax. However sadly, I've barely the cash to be able to afford a good time at AC, let alone pay for another bodysuit and feet.

Refund is your friend, but like that's going to happen. No doubt the money has been spent already.

Jax and the fursuit builder mentioned in the comment below this one *points*. Seem to really shoot themselves in the foot. Yet I don't understand how they keep getting work, even though they're years behind.

Send me an email or get one AIM, might be able to work something out. *hugs* I hate seeing folks jaded and down about fursuits.

Yeah, refunding isn't going to be a fun route to take as I know they've spent the money I paid as I had pretty much been told as such by themselves. I know of many others affected myself, I figure the only reason they're still getting work is that no-one's gone public to ruin their name by explaining the terrible service they've got. I've been encouraged on a number of occasions to post something on artists_beware or similar but to be honest I can only see that reducing the chance of me getting the finished suit I've paid for.

Anyway, about your proposal, I'd like to discuss it with you on AIM but you're always away or sleeping! Give me a buzz next time you see me online.

Well, in a pinch you could at least retailor the bodysuit to fit better and get some quick new feet or Happyfeet slippers.
