And so it's Christmas
Dec. 24th, 2007 08:47 pmWell almost. I've no work now until the 31st so am looking forward to the break. This year, I've not felt especially festive. I think the main reason is that this is the first year I've actually spent Christmas living away from my parents. We've not had any decorations up in the flat either which I guess has contribute to the way I'm feeling. I've still got presents to wrap up before tomorrow when my brother will be picking me up to take me to my parents.
So yeah, no presents waiting for me when I wake up tomorrow like the 26 years before now, but I guess it's a sign of growing up :P I'm not expecting much from family anyway, just some dollars to help with my holiday fun next year. I've already exchanged (and opened) presents from Kraken and Arakin which were both very well received. Sadly due to being a bit short on cash this year, I've not managed to get presents for many people, but then as I'm getting older, I don't expect much in return either. One thing I did get from work was a 5% raise (as did everyone in the company) which gets me ever so close to the £20k hurdle. It'd be nice to be earning in excess of £20k... Well, maybe sometime next year.
I've pretty much a clean slate after Christmas, tho I do have plans to visit Arakin after he gets back from Dubai. I'm uncertain of my plans for New Years, most likely visit Bungle and co as I've been invited which should be fun. Especially with the fireworks show they're planning. As I'm working on the 31st and 2nd, it's probably best to visit someplace local.
Anyway, to anyone who bothers to read this drivel, I hope you all have a merry christmas and a subsequent happy new year :)
