Internet Update & Other Stuff™

slycatSo I placed the order for Be Broadband yesterday, and I got confirmation yesterday it's expected to go live on Thursday the 1st May... which is bloody impressive for a fresh install of an LLU ADSL circuit on a line clean of any prior ADSL. They had said on the site it can take 2-4 weeks. It'll be good if they do live up to their promise. Looks like I could expect anything from 4mb to 9mb on the service, obviously I'm hoping I'll get something towards the upper end of that scale. Will be nice to get decent speeds, tho the impact of having no ADSL is minimal considering the 3G modem I've got from Vodafone is certainly up to the job.
Elsewhere, things are good. I received my copy of Sam & Max on DVD along with the comic book compilation in the mail yesterday which is turning out to be really good (the comic book moreso even). I also got my pay slip yesterday which showed that I seemed to get paid more than normal. I'm guessing it's due to the new budget... tho Gordon Brown will still not be getting my vote. Looking ahead, I've got GTA4 on the way; HMV confirmed it'll be shipped special delivery for receipt on the release day :D.
Thanks to the largest cruise ship in the world, Independence of the Seas arriving at Southampton yesterday, there's gonna be a massive firework display in Southampton on Sunday which'll be cool. Especially considering it's happening just outside my house (feel free to come down if you're in the area!). I guess living where I do, I can't help but have some interest in the cruise ships that pass by my window. I saw two of the three "Queen" ships pass by my window on Tuesday :).
