slycatJust got back from installing a system privately for a customer who has no confidence in himself with computers. Earned me £150 schmackers for it and didn't have to do too much. Earnt some brownie points by running a defrag and scandisk, finding errors and fixing them - also wasted some time so made it look like my time there was worth it.
This guy lived in Totterage, North London (Far north on the Northern Line). It's bloody nice there it is. Might as well be the countryside. The customer's house was gigantic and had like 4 cars - not suprised £150 is nothing to him ;) Only problem was that the guy was misled by our pushy sales team so I need to send him another Cd tomorrow to get it sorted. Gave him my direct line as a sign of good will and he said he would give me a further £50 once he has it all working :))
Anyway, I'm earning another £50 privately after work tomorrow for just putting a system on a laptop which will take all of 20 minutes and on Saturday morning, I'm going to another customer's workplace to allow him to pick my brains on the system and stuff, earning me a further £125! Fantastic.
Need to sell off my stuff on eBay too. There's at least £500 waiting to be claimed I reckon. Wondering if it's worth selling my still shrink wrapped copy of Rez for the DC yet or if it is worth waiting. I bought it for £25 but saw one go about a month ago for £40+...
On the flipside of course, I now have 2 credit cards as I just took out a Morgan Stanley card due to 0% transfer rate for 5 months. Both cards currently have £2000 on them. Hope to pay at least one off by August and aim to pay the other off by Christmas.
