slycat: (Fursuit)

Firstly I got a reply to my email to Sarah Woolley about this "Late Night Live". I basically asked what it was all about, who do you work for, etc... This is the reply:

"Hi Slycat,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I was working from home yesterday, hence the reason for the home e-mail address.

Late Night Live is the working title for a new show for Carlton Midlands, presented by Paul Ross.

The show will feature fun, strange, bizarre and wacky stories/people mainly from the Midlands region but also we are looking for acts, groups across the country to come onto the show.

I think people are more aware of the fursuit culture because of the Eurotrash programme, but is was very much an American angle, I'd really like people to come on the show that are part of the UK fursuit group and talk about their characters.

It would be great if we could chat over the phone and discuss this further, my numbers aer below, or send me an e-mail with a contact number and I can call you.

Thanks again for getting back to me.

Regards
Sarah

To her I will be sending another email. This time, I will just reply saying that "There is no fursuit scene in the UK. Come back in a few years and there might be but there certainly isn't at the moment". They are obviously just going for a more British version of Eurotrash covering the weirdness that is out there but quite frankly I know that furry may be strange to others but I don't want to advertise the fact! I'm quite happy the way things are.

Secondly, I got the email that most furs got. [livejournal.com profile] nomadfox posted it first so you can go read it on his LJ at http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?journal=nomadfox&itemid=67680. When I read this, I wasn't too sure what to think considering I received it so soon after the not so appealing Late Night Live show email. Other furs seem to think that it's a good thing cos it can't be manipulated further than stuff people actually say. Of course, you'd have to be sure that you didn't put your foot in it at any stage but it could otherwise be OK. My problem with this is that I don't want to go on TV. I don't want people to be able to recognise my face and instantly associate it with a show. I will have a think about this one, talk to some other furs and may get back to them.

I really don't know what's going on. It seems that all the TV companies are after a furry story all of a sudden... I wonder what I may get in tomorrows email!
