Bleh... just returned home from today's LondonFur meet. Was quite a good meet this time, I think mainly due to the fact that we couldn't have our normal room as some company had hired it for their A.G.M. I mean what sort of company hires a free room above a pub for an official meeting? Can't be a good one, my company is shite but at least they use the meeting room in a local Travel Inn for their AGMs...
I digress, as we had no private room, we were relegated to the main pub area and subsequentally took over the back end of the pub. People had more chance to mingle and socialise and so it turned out to be a more entertaining meet than it otherwise would have been. Spoke with loads of people, forgot many new names... Also took many photos which I havn't done in ages. Somehow I managed to accumulate around 80 photos and I wasn't even trying. I'll upload them tomorrow as I don't have the card reader.
After pub (Which I didn't get drunk in (or at least wobbly) for once, although Nevvie(
angelislington) would probably disagree), we went to the deep pan pizza place, after 2 failed attempts, we finally squeezed into one opposite Trafalgar Square. Shared 2 large "Meat lover's delight" pizzas and 2 rounds of garlic bread with Budrick(
budlite,
orona_red and Paddy(
afurinwales). I also had a Coke float in an effort to have the closest thing to a Vanilla Coke in the UK. Was nice but it did look like some of Fat Bastard's stool sample... Finished the meal by sharing an Fantastic Ultimate Chocolate Bonanza Special Super Deluxe Challenge (Or something similarily named), a dessert I can rarely ignore should I have the space. I shared it with Bud but we were still unable to finish it so Orona gave a hand.
Deserts finished, we paid our bill and folks went their seperate ways. As I was going via Salisbury due to the engineering works on my normal route, I went home with
kurtbatz as he gets off one stop before Salisbury. Kurt told me about the delights of the shopping centre at Basingstoke where they have a Warner Bros Studio Store and have many huge plushies. Kurt himself bought a huge Pepe Le Pew from there *envy*. Will have to go there with him sometime and get me more Sylvesterage!
Had to wait 40mins at Salisbury for my train home and then endured a 20min walk in the cold rain, finally getting home around 10.10. As we left London at 7.35, that makes the total trip time 2hrs 35mins. Argh! I'm glad to be home though, I am looking forward to a nice relaxing kip in my comfy bed :)
