Ichi the Killer
Jun. 5th, 2003 10:21 pmSo I got round to watching it today on my bro's bedroom theatre set up. Um... it wasn't quite what I was expecting. I suppose I was expecting more action. Rather than finding it disturbing I found it more comical really. The gore was often cheasily and badly done, I believe it must have been done that way to make you realise that it wasn't taking itself too seriously. If it was purely realistic, it probably would have been rather disturbing and possibly the only people to like it would be that of a sadistic nature.
Needless to say it had it's moments but ultimately, again I was disappointed. Guess I've not done too well for DVD pruchases recently excluding Adaptation. Oh well, time for eBay I guess. I'm sure there'll be plenty of people out there who'd appreciate the film.
In other news, I got the Adaptation score cos I just love the sound of the film. It's very good but like all film scores, far too short. :P
