... so I'll have to keep it as brief as I can.

Friday

After work, I went with some of the guys to some local pubs and ended up at "The Sun" Clapham Common. Had to leave early as I had to get back to see T3 with my brother but I foolishly never took the time to have a pee. As a result, I depserately needed to go but found I had to hold it all the way up the Northern Line to the adptly named Waterloo where I could finally relieve myself. That's the last time I do that, I think I did some temporary damage holding it that long.

After getting home, I left with my brother to see the late showing of T3 in the THX cinema. I was very impressed witht he action sequences, specifically the crane chase near the start but it suffered hugely from not being scored, it was just left to sound effects. It seemed as if they run out of time / money after editing as there were poor titles, no theme and poor scoring throughout. However, the story was well done and did it's best not to contradict the previous two but ultimately, it wasn't T2. But then T2 was impossible to follow as it was so perfect. Oh, one more major bad point of the film was that it made fun of the franchise a bit too much. Some bits were understandable, like when Arnie gets his clothes as to be honest, if he did it any other way, he'd be copying the previous films but it was hard to take the film serious at times. As my brother said at one stage, "Oh my god, they've made it into a comedy!". In summary, good but it's just not T2.

Saturday

Got home fromthe cinema at 2am and got up at 7.30am meaning I had only 5hrs sleep. Did quite well off it however, got tot he meet on time anbd met the folks at Kings Cross as usual with the exception of meeting Skunki from Germany which was nice after talking with him on IRC all this time. As I was waiting for [livejournal.com profile] gerald_duck, I stayed behind as the others went off.

Went to the pub, met the usual suspects, went on to Nando's and had chicken with 7 others. Then went to Kensington Gardens to catch up with everyone. Nattered a bit and then buggered off to Namco. At Namco, played DDR Extreme, just cos I wanted to have a go and for the best part of it, did rather well. I was annoyed that Captain Jack's Only You (From 5th mix) wasn't on there as it's one of those that looks really difficult but is actually really easy and fun to play :P. Collapsed at the bar and drunk fluids, relaxing before challenging [livejournal.com profile] hawx, [livejournal.com profile] makali and [livejournal.com profile] shinji at bowling. I played my worst game ever and came last before returning to the bar.

Somehow, Hawx talked me into staying over at his place for the night even though I didn't have a change of clothes or even any toiletries. [livejournal.com profile] timmypup, [livejournal.com profile] xendragon, Shinji and Makali also went to Hawx's place in Surrey for the night.

Hawx's place was nice, if bare. Xen made nice pasta. We had booze. I slept in Robert Smith's bed.

Sunday

Woke up after a reasonably nice sleep. We went into town for primarily a kettle and maybe a microwave if they were cheap enough. We came away with a kettle, toaster and sandwich maker set (for £20) and a £5 barbeque from Woolies. Also stocked up on food at Safeway courtesy of Makali (And Ice Cream from myself). Xen and co managed to construct the BBQ without any of the tools they suggest in the instructions and proceeded to try to light it. After at least 30mins of trying, we gave up and used the oven. While we were eating, the BBQ decided to ignite itself and burn all the charcoal... d'oh!

Somehow, I got talked into staying another night (don't worry, I was showering, borrowing towels, brushing my teeth with my finger and washing my clothes in the machine) and so we spent the evening in the pub after saying goodbye to Tim and Xen.

Monday

Tidied up the place, did the washing up, had a meal cooked by Makali again before hitting the pub en-route to getting a taxi to the station. This all happened over the course of 11am to 6pm so I'm sure I've missed something even though it happened today.

All the trains were fucked due tot he extreme heat causing the rails to buckle. Had to change at Woking and Basingstoke, waiting 30mins before getting the train home.

In summary, I had a great time, the meet was good but the time at Hawx's was miles better. Was great to get to know Makali and Xen better. tim's really lucky to have a girl like her... but I probably say that cos I'm lazy :P

It's fookin' hot right now as you probably know already. I don't know how I'm going to have a good night's sleep tonight.

Hawx has Robert Smith living with him? Or the bed gives you bedhair akin to the belipsticked crooner from The Cure? o.o

Amusingly, one of the guys who Hawx will be sharing his new place with is called Robert smith :)

T3 was, as I've heard many people put it, 'the ultimate fan-service' movie. :)

It wasn't out to cover particularly fresh ground. It just presented a lot of scenes which we, the Terminator-film-loving public, would have liked to have seen (thus, fan service). A female terminator? A more humorous re-visit to the 'acquiring clothes' scene (among others)?

But while it wasn't anything particularly deep or inventive, it /was/ a lot of fun (at least, for me it was), and they did a pretty good job of weaving the new plot into an otherwise 'dead-ended' storyline. :)

Just my silly little thoughts.

Yeah, I agree with that. What's more is that they wrote T3 as a two parter. If T3 does well in the box office, they will make the concluding T4 set in the aftermath of Skynet. Can't see how they could make it any good though, it would have to be just coverage of John Connor sending back the previous Terminators and his Dad... Also I bet to tie in with the "there is no fate but what we make" theme, I bet he doesn't die when the Terminator predicted in T3.

Assuming it all gets done and Arnie isn't getting around with a Zimmer frame by this stage.

What's more likely to be a problem is his getting elected as governor of California.

Heh, too bad you wandered off and didn't get to see Clawz wandering around London in his skunk suit. *That* was quite a sight! And what's with this extreme heat thing? It's not that hot. ;p Yesterday was a relatively mild normal summer day by California standards. I'd say it was just reaching into the "hot" category. Now then, today and tomorrow should be genuinely roasting. The predicted 100 degrees Farenheight on Wed. is way too hot even for me.

And what's with this extreme heat thing? It's not that hot.

Another example of American naiveity. Of course it's a notmal day to you, you hve 30C+ weather every day so you're going to be acclimbatised to the hot weather. However, for us brits, we get maybe 2 weeks a year of 30C+ weather so when it does happen, it comes as quite a shock and we make a big deal over it. Anyway, it's not the daytime heat that's a problem, it's the night time heat. At least in California where you have this weather every day, you have air conditioning to cool yourself down at home.

Well I know that you silly cat! And no I don't have air conditioning in my house in America. I was just commenting that it was not hot for me, I didn't say anything about you. Anyhow, I couldn't stand the cold here in winter. Snow is scarry.

You were complaining that I said it was "extreme" heat, therefore you were commenting on how I shouldn't think as such because of what you're used to.

I was not saying you shouldn't think anything, I was just commenting that.. Well never mind I'm sorry. I meant for it not to be taken that seriously.
