Continuing from yesterday's reformatting of my computer, it turns out that the network is infected with many viruses that are originating from other PCs and then like. One of which is the Blaster virus which everyone is going on about at the moment. True, the network problems we've been having may or may not have been due to my PC and true, my PC needed a reinstall anyway but it's nice to again say it wasn't totally down to my PC. the answer isn't always to reinstall my PC just cos they don't trust what I use... I take pride in my competance with computers and take offence when people who know less than me suggest that I'm causing whatever problem. Blah, an yway, that's all over and done with. Now to explain the topic...

It seems that during my absence the MD has introduced a new bonus type scheme whereby if you beat your personal best of taking or making calls by 10 in a day, you get a tenner. As I had been away, my personal best for taking calls was only 14 as the new system had only just started before I left. Anyhoo, I got 24 calls quite easily and the boss promptly handed me two fivers :). There's a flaw in the logging system where the call is only recorded for the 'personal best' thing if you manally push a button on the customer's record. Therefore, when I reached 24, I didn't want to push that button any more as I didn't think I'd make 34 in time and there's no point leaving it as 30 cos then I'd have to get 40 calls for a small cash bonus. Anyway, it turned out to be a busy afternoon and I clocked up the 10 calls I needed and so went back through their records pushing the button and earning myself the second tenner.

That last paragraph was much less interesting than I intended.... sorry.

Just to catchup, on Saturday, I went to a LAN party. Which turned out to be a really silly idea considering the weather but we had much fun playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and stuff. I also got to meet a guy who used to work in the same company as I did 4 years ago which was nice :) Sunday, I curled up in a nice air conditioned cinema to see Pirates of the Caribbean. It was a fun film which went on longer than I expected (when it got to a certain point, I was thinking "Oh it's about to finish in a bit but nothing's really happened", but it went on further :). It was hyped up quite a bit so my expectations were quite high. However, I felt it didn't live up to those expectations. Needless to say, I liked the film, loved the acting, but it was a bit simple... but then it was for the kids being a Disney film.

In closing, I really am looking forward to the heat dropping, I'm tired of the hot, sticky, sweaty heat I'm having to put up with on a nightly basis. I'm tired of having to take at least 2 showers a day. It's due to get cooler tomorrow but I don't have expectations for the humidity to drop any time soon without a thunderstorm.

"Hey they're working. My feet are soaked, but my cuffs are dry. Everything's coming up Milhouse!"

The last sentance is the reply, the rest just sort of makes it funny, if you've seen the .. Yeah.
