Jobthing update
Oct. 28th, 2003 08:04 pmI got a call from another agency today, this time Computer People who almost got me an interview last time. As it was 3pm I had to say call me back at 5.30pm as I wasn't able to descretely talk to him without arising suspicion from other colleagues. He never called back and neither did the guy I spoke to that morning about the job. Once I got to Waterloo, I decided to give him a call and ask him what's going on. He informed me that he had put the CVs through but wouldn't know any more until Friday. so I've gotta play the waiting... will I get an interview (my first since I started searching) or won't I?
In a kinda related matter, looks like the boss isn't happy with the performance of the helpdesk. He called the helpdesk supervisor into a meeting and then she came back and told us that my colleague and I don't sound happy enough on the phone. Well there's a suprise... He also believes that it is my fault that I sound unhappy and I need to record my voice at work and listen to it at home! The fucking cheek! As our supervisor is generally on our side, tshe decided to write about why we feel as low as we do and we listed low morale, failing network and computer systems, lack of training, lack of information about new product features, lack of pay reviews, lack of appreciation while faults are quick to be pointed out... the list went on but that was just some of the things. I doubt anything will come of it but at least it's something. I sometimes yearn to be called to the boss' office just so I have a reason to explain why I feel so shit at work but it seems he'd rather hide away and get other people to do his dirty work.
I've said it before, I'll say it again, I need to get out of this job!
