More furries on TV
Oct. 31st, 2003 08:25 pmJust finished watching that CSI show which features an investigation into a murder int he furry fandom. From my perspective as a fur who has been to a convention, I found it hilarious :) I really don't know what made them cover such a subject but in honesty it was rather well done. I don't think it was made tongue in cheek but the one liners the detectives come out with are just classics :D
If you can muster the download, it's worth a watch, just to see how furries are being protrayed to the American masses these days. I can't really understand how anyone could be offended or upset by this in the fandom as people obviously have been. I guess they don't have a sense of humour ;)
To quote Camrath, "it's factually wrong.. but it's great entertainment"

Date: 2003-10-31 01:35 pm (UTC)The show actually seemed to imply that ALL furries got into scritch piles and had sex with each other in fursuits.
Having said that, it was funny, especially the way the killing turned out, it's just a shame they had to go down the sexual road yet again.
When is the spiritual side going to get a bit of positive coverage.....oh yeah sex sell programmes.

Anyone getting upset at the portrayal of furs in that show (not that I've actually seen it, I should emphasise) should probably never watch Priscilla Queen Of The Desert if they're gay/TV, Wargames if they're a hacker, Jurassic Park if they know what Unix or genetics look like, Cinderella if they have a stepmother, and so on.
