Random stuff
Dec. 6th, 2001 12:18 amNot said anything for a while. Mostly due to Live Journal being an arse and me not thinking of stuff to say when it was working.
Looks like the move is all going smoothly - filled in the forms and Glis sent them off. The estate agents have been checking out my references and I'm sure they'll check out. I can't wait to move out and turn to the next chapter in my life.
I will miss living here but I think it's time to move on and there couldnt be a better oppertunity than this. London is much more built up than the area I live in at the moment so it may take a bit of getting used to. Like i'll have to completely rethink where I like to go shopping or get food or go in my spare time. I'll get used to it I guess.
In other news, I finally got my 512mb of memory to work with my brother's help. I now have an impressive 640mb of ram. Now, um... what am I supposed to do with it? ;) I also had to replace my DVD-ROM drive and so got a nice 16x Pioneer region free drive. The old one was causing I/O errors and was generally being unreliable. I like the new one, slot loading and stuff. Does make more noise than the old one however - sounds like an extra fan when in use.
Still cant get WinDVD to work as it just likes to hang so I'm having to resort to Windows Media Player 8 for playing DVD movies until I can find anything better. I may be imagining it but since the updates, it looks like DVD video is much smoother than it was before.
Slowly making up a backup PC with all the spare parts. It just now needs a sound card, a graphics card and a monitor to make it a finished PC. I'll be able to put the Voodoo 3 I'm using at the moment in that too once I get me a nifty new graphics card but that won't happen for a while yet.
XP & Voodoo 3 do not like each other. Couldnt get Return to Castle Wolfenstein to work at all becuase it said I didn't have Open GL. Had to use some hacked drivers to get it to work but I still have no TV out which makes DVD watching a bit poo.
Still yet to buy x-mas prezzies. Got the day off on the 17th so I'll probably use that day. I always leave it late. I'm a bit hard up on cash (Yes I know I just bought me some stuff) so I won't be able to get great presents anyways...
One of these days I'll get round to updating my web site. Was going to do some work on it yesterday but couldn't even think of a layout. I predict that I'll need to put a lot of though into it for my new design. I may just put up the old site that hadn't been updated since March back up just so there's something to read.
Yes I know this entry is dotting from one place to another with no apparant link but I'm writing this as I remember stuff...
Went to a LondonFur meet on the weekend. Had fun there, drak drinks, talked to furs, played DDR, did shopping, etc. The hilight of the day must have been when we (KurtBats, Astral, AceFox, Nutsy, Fantum and myself) saw EDDIE IZZARD in a Starbucks in the West End. He was with his wife / girlfriend / mistress. He was wearing plain clothes - blue jeans, leather coat and a baseball cap but it was definitley him! :D. He didn't buy anything but his associate had a muffin... None of us plucked up the courage to say hello and so he just left after his friend had eaten her cake. Bah!
Anyhoo, that's about everything. If i remember anything else, I'll be sure to post it here :)
