I know I'm broke... I know I'm debt ridden. I know I just spent a silly amount on a phone... but I just had to buy this (it was only £25 including postage anyway). It's called Atsumare!! Made in Wario. It's basically Wario Ware Inc for the GBA with knobs on and multiplayer madness. Edge gave it a great review and also mentioned that there was currently no release date planned for the UK. That alone made me bite the bullet and get the game. Although it will be in Japanese, the games are so self explanitory (and many are based on the GBA game), it will be easy enough to pick up and enjoy. Of the GBA versions, I actually preferred the Japanese one cos it was harder due to the fact you couldn't read the instructions ;)

In other news... woohoo! It's the weekend again :). I plan to have a quiet one with a haircut being the only thing on my agenda. I shall treat it as the perfect time to knuckle down on that course I've been putting off for so long and finally get onto the fun stuff. Also need to bung some things on eBay so this'll be the perfect time for it.

Oh, one final thing I should mention. With my new phone, it has Bluetooth, the new wireless technology for small devices. I remember reading in a newspaper about some "phenomenon" known as Bluejacking which has been gathering speed which basically involves you sending anonymous messages to other random people in the nearby area (I think it has a range of 10m) and making them confused. I decided to give it a crack yesterday on the train home. I scanned for devices and found two Nokia 6310i with Bluetooth left enabled. I decided to send a fairly anonymous message (they can't see who it's from anyway, it just says 'received from bluetooth') reading "Hello, you've just been bluejacked" to one of the phones and soon enough a guy who was sitting fairly close by was looking at his 6310i and then gave me a stare... I guess he either had read about it and seen me playing with my phone or he knew what was going on. Regardless I felt really uncomfortable until he got off at his stop and can't really see the appeal of doing such things... Maybe it's just not a great idea to target highly strung business commuter types. Anyway, there is a site all about it featuring people who have had fun harassing members of thepublic, have a read here: www.bluejackq.com

If it's a Japanese GC game you _WILL_ need a separate Memory card. Although American and European GC saves can live happily on the same card, Japanese ones will not, and you'll lose all the other save games on it!

Ah, thanks for that, I wasn't aware. It's just as well that I have a spare memory card then :)

Oh, I'm sure you'd appreciate me taking this over yours for a game? ;)

I guess the trick with bluejacking is to have the message ready to send in advance, then be a little surreptitious about actually sending it.

There are worse problems ahead - it seems that with some phones the security is easy to circumvent, whereupon you can siphon out all someone's contact details via Bluetooth without their permission. Oh well...

It's easy enough to turn bluetooth off when you're not using it or to set yourself to hidden when you dont want to be found in scans. However, it seems that the Nokia 6310i has bluetooth set on by default as you can easily pick up a large number fo the buggers in Waterloo station or someplace.

Strangely, I found that site (and heard about bluejacking, more or less simultaneously) about five hours before you posted this. And a friend of mine, locally, had already done it earlier that day.

Is this the fastest-spreading fad known to mankind? :P
