Since I got my new hard drive, I've been going through my old CDs copying things back to my hard disk as I now have the space to store them and I came across some files from the summer of 2000. I was pleased to discover that I still have the recording of the Funday Pawpet Show which I sat in on :D.

Download it from my site at http://www.slycat.co.uk/lj/puppet20000521.rm. It's 60mb and it's Real Media (get RealAlternative if, like me, you don't want anything made by Real on your PC) but it's worth the download ^^.

In the show, approximately around 13mins 30seconds, you hear me arrive and I remember at the time feeling fairly overwelmed by the reception. I hadn't slept since arriving in Florida and so had been awake around 24hours at the time. So not only was I tired, I was rather shy about it all too. They asked me to do an interview but I declined as I was a wimp :P. Nevertheless, you hear me say "Hi" in what sounds like a dodgy american accent... Why I did that I'm not too sure, my brain can't have been that functional at the time. Regardless, it's quite an entertaining episode as it had a running Being John Malkovitch type theme going through the show... although with ferrets instead of John Malkovitch!

It's interesting to see how the show has changed over the 4 and a half years but then I suppose it's had to considering it's been running almost every Sunday since it began and it's still 4 hours long. Hats off to the people who give up their sunday evenings each week to do it, they're obviously still having a great time doing it. I've not really seen it much since as it's on at unsociable hours (12midnight - 4am GMT) but as I'm off tomorrow, I'll try to see what it's like tonight.
