Work

Work has been strange yet busy and kinda rewarding. A week last Thursday, we had a new guy join who I was responsible for training up. That went rather well, he's doing well and is starting to independently do the support work without me having to tell him what to do. Last Thursday, another guy started, also for first line tech support. He lies to talk but that may just be his way of getting comfortable with a new surrounding. Unfortunately, lots of things were going wrong on Friday so I wasn't able to train him as much as I would have liked. I was finding it difficult to keep on top of my own work whilst giving the new guy things to do and have the time to answer his questions. Hopefully, things will go more smoothly next week so I can get him up to speed and then concentrate on my own work. I have a positive feeling about my work for once, once I have these two guys fully trained and independent, they will only ask me the odd question about what to do and I can focus on managing their work and dealing with higher level support work.

Weekend

Not been up to much really. Have been doing my best to spend as little as possible. That said, I did go play pool on Saturday and had my first ever doner kebab. It was actually rather nice, I was expecting it to be a bit nasty to be honest due to their bad reputation of being a food you can only appreciate if very drunk. As it happens, I was only 2 pints down so that doesn’t count as "very drunk" ;).

Weight

At the start of Saturday, I weighed myself. I was 18st 3lb. This is the lightest I have been in at least 2 years. However in the course of the weekend, I not only had the aforementioned doner kebab, but I had the worlds largest haddock and chips at a pub with the family followed by a chocolate truffle and today I've had a chicken tikka curry and 2 slices of chocolate cake... I'll see if I can weigh myself tomorrow to see how much damage I've done. I would love to get under 18st and then set my sights on getting under 17st, etc. For the non-UK types reading, 1st = 14lbs

Web

I've completed my work on Fursuit.co.uk, including updating the front page with a cute pic by [livejournal.com profile] omega256 and new logo fonts, etc.  Only a few minor things to do which involve putting in descriptions for each of the fursuiters and maybe do some more SQL fancy work with the where to buy page.  Also a set of tools to add and update entries without having to go into PHPMyAdmin would be nice and would also be a good project for me to get up to speed with such things.

Fortunately, and with the latter somewhat unfortunately; I've had both :P

Ooh, PHP.. there's something I need to get down'n'dirty with. ^_^ Should be easy enough to install, and then I can get the Coppermine gallery software installed, which should make it easy to add extra clips to the site without having to explicitly add the code.

It's interesting to see how different foods cross to different parts of the world.. in the UK, a kebab van can, much as with nettles and dock leaves, quite reliably be found nearby any busy pub. In most of California, the closest you'll get is a shawerma in a "wraps" place or good coffee house. (In exchange, of course, there's a few sushi bars per block along parts of Stevens Creek and El Camino down in Sansunnyjoclaravale. Most okay, and one quite notably good :)

Good news on the weight. ^_^ Keep it up! (Well, down)

Ah, soon you'll have your lackeys properly trained to bring you coffee at the right times, too. ^_^
