Busy busy...

I've not updated here for a while now.  That's mostly due to the fact that there's nothing really noteworthy going on.  Work has been pretty hectic, especially yesterday as we had sent out a load of letters say that people owed us money.  Of course no-one likes paying money if they can get away with it so we were inundated with calls.  I was barely able to get any support work done.  Thing is, I just know today is going to be worse :-/.  Also, on Monday, I'll be the only person in the support department as one person has the day off and another in in hospital and the other one was laid off yesterday.  Fun, fun, fun...

Oh well, I hope all this hard work and strain doesn't go unnoticed and I finally get a pay raise.  I'll have been at this company 1 year come March.

I was unfortunately told that I would be discounted from this years' payrise because of my disciplinary talk. It's great how they do that when it wasn't even my fault. Still, i'm not bitter as i'll find a better job :)

Pay rises are curious things.. it pays to read one's contract closely. ^_^; At one, having been there for about eight months, I was awarded the prevailing rise, pro rated - ie, 2/3 of the actual rise. They tried explaining it, but.. it didn't make sense then, and it doesn't now. >chuckle< Still, the $5k bonus made up for that bit of silliness. ^_^

Support's down to two people, then? Eep! With the workload you've been experiencing, how could they manage to let someone escape?
