So, I went to the doctors yesterday about my persistant fever and everything and the doc thought it's most likely to be sinusitus.  I got perscribed some relatively strong general anti-biotics and got told not to go back to work until at least Thursday.  As it's only 3 days, I don't need a doctor's note but if I'm still not seeing any improvement come Thursday, I have to go in for blood and urine tests.

Why is it that even when your doctor has told you to, you feel guilty for sitting at home trying to find ways to waste time rather than going to work?  I know I hate my job, when I have my debts paid off, I will feel more comfortable with maybe quitting and getting another job which I actually enjoy.  Tech support is too stressful... dunno what else I could do.  Maybe some junior level web developer type thing considering I have bits and pieces of knowledge in that department.  Maybe even try starting up my own service and work from home :)

Anyway, the anti-biotics seem to be having an effect as I'm feeling less feverish, however I am still having problems overnight with my breathing due to the sinuses.  Hopefully that'll clear up in due course.

Get well soon!
As a veteran of sinusitus I suggest get yourself a nice powerful decongestant like sudafed, steam mentholate yourself to within an inch of life and don't hold in any sneezes =OP

Sound advice there, I've already had a go at steaming the sinuses :)

The decongestant is the charm though, make sure its got the full 60mg of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, Tescos own brand decongestant has only 5g.

Never happens to me, though I can get bored I never feel guilty that I'm not at work. I guess I get less attached to it than most.

The sudafed and mentholating yourself to death is great advice, Olbas oil dripped on a tissue and tucked inside your pillow is great too, though if it comes out and sticks to your face in the night your face will go numb for ages :D

Ick, I had the a sinus infection too a few months ago, and then I broke out in hives because I was allergic to the antibiotic. Fortunatly the antibiotics relieved the symptoms in just a couple of days despite the allergy. Hopefully you will be fine soon.
