While it's no suprise to many that it's been pretty nice weather this weekend, it's not had a great effect on my PC.  I was having problems whenever the CPU was under load such as applications crashing without reason, or the dreaded BSOD.  Earlier today, the CPU was getting as hot as 71C and the system temperature was 45C.  After one BSOD too many, I decided to open up the computer and see what I could do to make it cooler.  First thing I did was clean all the fans as they were pretty much caked in dust.  The CPU fan itself had a crack running down one of the fins too which couldn't have been helping things so I replaced that fan with another I had spare.  Next thing I did was a major tidy of all the cables in the case to improve airflow within the case, more difficult than it sounds as IDE cables are a nightmare to bend (should probably get some of those round IDE cables).  With all the work done, the PC is now reporting to have a CPU temperature of 53C and system temperature of 36C.  Quite an improvement I think, the PC seems much more reliable now.

Also, as it was so hot today, I decided to buy a pair of 3/4 length shorts.  It seems that my weight loss has resulted in my dropping a waist size as I'm now 40" which was a pleasant suprise.  Now I just need to get down further so I can have a bit more of a range of clothing to choose from.  Had to also get a new belt as my 42" trousers kept falling down when walking about.  Hopefully the heat should help towards weight loss though sweat! :P

Another thing vaguely worth noting was that my eBay auction of my phone completed today.  It only went for £78.  I was expecting about that much but was kinda hoping for more.  Anyway, it's £78 I didn't have before, should help towards the old debts.  Still got plenty of other stuff to sell, the biggest being my Sony mini hi-fi & DVD player.  I've had it for a good 6+ months now ready for sale but I've just been that lazy.  The longer I leave it, the less it's worth.  No idea how much I can get for it now, maybe £70 if I'm lucky.  Got so many DVDs to sell, a lot of hard work for not much cash back... but it needs to be done sometime.

And finally, quite a freakish event occured whilst at Southampton shopping.  My brother and I had split up to visit the shops we wanted to visit, etc and we both knew we needed to get a Father's Day card.  Now my brother went into one Clinton's Cards and I went into another.  We had both managed to buy exactly the same card!  Out of such a range, we both bought a Far Side card with a cow cooking burgers on a barbeque.  Now it's likely that the fact we had a barbeque for lunch made us think the card was more relevant but still, we managed to select from over 100 cards, the exact same one.  I wonder what the chances are against that.  It felt like I was on a Derren Brown show and we had come out of seperate isolation booths only to produce the same result.  It makes me worry that I'm too similar to my brother as I share much of his company, obviously his participation in furry doesn't help this.  I'm thinking I may need to move out soon and become more independant.

Amazon (marketplace) is better for selling DVD's than Ebay! Amazon take a huge chunk of the cash, but it takes 10 seconds to list an item ( you only need to type in the barcode), and you can set the price your self, and it doesn't cost you a penny until it sells. Oh and they handle the payment, you only ship once amazon has the money of the buyer!

(I'm only selling on amazon at the moment, not on ebay)
