After much umming and ahing, I bought the XFX 256mb GeForce 6600GT from WiseMouse.com for £123.29 (£132.10) including postage.  They were the cheapest on the net for that card, but like most places (except Scan), they were out of stock.  They are due to get new stock on the 10th.  I preordered cos I was getting annoyed at not having ordered anything and having to deal with my poxy 4mb PCI card that I'm using in the interim.

However, when I got home, I found a Misco catalogue waiting for me.  Now I normally treat these as junk mail and stick them right in the bin but I thought I'd have a look at what graphics cards they had on offer.  To my suprise, they had a BFG 256mb GeForce 6800GT OC for only £152.74.  Normally the 6800GTs go for in exces of £200 mark.  I figured that's only £30 extra for a lot more power but I hadn't noticed the item on their web site before.  So I gave them a call and turns out they only have one left which is why it's not on their site.  I bought it there and then and even paid the £2.50 extra for next day delivery (meaning it arrives Monday rather than Wednesday).  I still can't believe my luck, I always take pride in getting the best deal, etc and I think I've really done well here.  Now I just only hope that there aren't any problems with it like there were with my previous attempt to upgrade my card.

As WiseMouse use a WorldPay like system, they've already charged me for the product so will need to hassle them to cancel the order and get a refund.  However considering they're not in stock, I don't see this being a problem.
I'm just glad that this is all over and the next time I need to upgrade my graphics card will be when I also need a new motherboard and CPU...  Hopefully that won't be for a few years yet.

Edit: Turns out it was too good to be true. I checked the site and the PCI-E equivilent of what I was allegedly buying was £260 and so something didn't seem quite right. When I got the email confirmation through, it confirmed what had happened. There was a misprint in the bloody catalogue! The product that was actually £152.74 was a 128mb 6600GT. So I'm gonna cancel and go with the original order.
